Our summer gathering in Oregon was full of flowers, conifers, wine and roses. Our kick off dinner under the stars at FloraWood was a beautiful way to start off our event. We spent time touring Monrovia’s Dayton, Oregon facility. This 550-acre nursery is where they grow conifers, broadleaf shrubs and other cold-hardy plants. We had the opportunity to flag our favorite plant, the winner was a red-leafed Mukdenia. At Durant Vineyards we enjoyed wine tasting, olive oil tasting, shopping at the nursery and relaxing while taking in the beauty of the area. Our second day was filled with fascinating visits to Peace of Mind Nursery where we learned about rare conifers to use in winter planters and watched a beautiful wreath be made. Terra Nova Nurseries gave us a glimpse into the process of tissue culture. Little Prince was filled with fun houseplants, succulents and tropicals; we wanted to take everything home with us! We ended our gathering with a visit to the Portland Rose Garden and Japanese Garden. Thank you to our sponsors, Crescent Garden, Monrovia, Peace of Mind Nursery, Terra Nova Nursery and Little Prince for helping make this event such a success!
