Summer Camp for Container Garden Designers
Our Summer 2022 gathering in Michigan was a fun flower-filled summer camp for container garden designers! We started off in Grand Haven touring the facilities of Spring Meadow, a Proven Winners Color Choice Shrub grower. We were in awe of the automation in the greenhouse and how much goes into growing the best shrubs. At Mast Young Plants in Grand Rapids, we viewed their “living catalog” trial garden showcasing new varieties for 2023 and tons of amazing plant combinations. The remainder of our time was spent on Mackinac Island. We did a bike tour of Jack Barnwell’s gardens, took in the beauty of Hotel Iroquois and took time for self-care with yoga, hiking and relaxing by the lake.
